Yalta

Yalta (in ancient times Yalos, Yalita) is located on the ancient land of Crimea, here archaeologists found objects related to the stone and bronze centuries. The city belonged to the Вrands, the Genoese, and in the 13th century, it was captured by the Ottoman Empire. After themselves, in the vicinity of Yalta, the Turks left fountains at the water sources. The rule of the Turks in Yalta ended after the Russo-Turkish war.

In the first few decades, after the annexation of the peninsula to Russia, the Crimea and the southern coast of the Crimea are visited by foreign and Russian scientists and travelers who studied natural resources. After the publication of the work of Professor S.P. Botkin, on the healing properties of the climate of the Southern coast, Yalta begins to develop as a resort.
