The eastern part of the Crimea is very rich in
interesting natural landscapes and it can rightfully be called one of the most
picturesque corners of the peninsula. Sometimes there is a feeling that nature
in these places has arranged some kind of geological laboratory.
This Cape Chameleon is clay protrusion in the shape of
the eponymous animal, far protruding its muzzle into the Koktebel Bay. But the
most striking thing is that he not only looks like a chameleon, but ... has the
same properties as color change !!!
From whatever side you look at Cape Chameleon, it will
always be of different colors. Moreover, even from one point at different times
of the day, at different angles of the position of the sun in the sky, it will
also have a different color! Pink, brown, ashen gray, then a rich copper color.
Chameleon...
But from the opposite end of the Dead Bay, the
Chameleon has a completely different color - ashen gray ...
Its name Chameleon acquired a very long time and it is
for the phenomenon of changing colors, as well as shape. Its ancient name is
Toprah-Kaya, which translates as clay rock.
And even the bays at the Cape Chameleon are colored -
on the left Dead, on the right - Quiet.
