Ayu-Dag or Bear
Mountain is located on the southern coast of the Crimea between the resort
villages of Hurzuf and Partenit. Unlike most other mountains of the peninsula,
the origin of Ayu-Dag is volcanic, it is a laccolith - the formation that
occurs when the lava failed to reach the surface, and she raised the top
layers. Water and wind carried away from the formed elevation softer rocks, and
now we see a practically bare rock.
