Kerch

Kerch (Kerch, Crimean Tat. Keriç, Kerich) is a city in the eastern Crimea, on the shore of the Kerch Strait. Earlier names by dr.-Greek. Παντικάπαιον. It is one of the oldest cities in the world.
Kerch is the most eastern populated point of the Crimea, located on the peninsula whitch is washed by the waters of two seas - the Black Sea and the Azov Sea. Kierch is stretched for 40 km. along the strait. 

The population of Kerch is 160 thousand people, by the standards of the Crimean peninsula, Kerch is a large city It’s fact that Kerch is difficult to call a resort, it is visited annually by thousands of tourists.

Kerch is located in the south of the temperate climatic zone and boasts a fairly sunny and hot summer. The climate here is more humid than in the rest of the Crimea, and the average temperatures are higher than in its steppe part, due to smaller daily fluctuations. The average daily air temperature in June is 20.3 ° C, July - 23.4 ° C, August - 23.1 ° C, and in September - 17.9 ° C. Unfortunately, there is no velvet season inherent in the resorts of the South Coast.

Beaches of Kerch

Despite the fact that a significant part of the coastline of Kerch is occupied by port facilities, the city has a lot of beaches.

The largest of them - the main city - is a long and wide beach with pleasant golden sand. In 2011, the beach was reconstructed, very carefully removed and called all this beauty "Sun Dali". The entrance to this beach, as well as to all the rest in Kerch free, only paid for places under beach umbrellas. In addition to the beach umbrellas the beach is equipped with free shady canopies, cabanas for changing clothes, attractions are organized, pleases the presence of rescuers. 

If you move away from the benefits of civilization (bus station, for example) by several hundred meters, the beach becomes freer, even spacious. The disadvantage of this beach is that it is inconvenient to get to it. Buses go rather rarely, so they are densely packed and go to the center of 20-30 minutes, and closer to the evening to leave on public transport in general is problematic.

The rest of the beaches of Kerch are not so remarkable, but they can also be perfectly rest. We list and briefly describe them:

Sandy, small and very crowded beach "At the Institute", located 10 min. Walk from the eponymous stop, to which from the center to go about 15 minutes.

Into the center of the city is a very small beach about 30 m long, which is a strip of sand piled on the embankment. Descent into the water - on the steps with a concrete embankment.

The beach on the massif of the "7 winds" is narrow and rocky with a little addition of sand, and a ladder leads to it, making it easier to descend from the cliff. This beach is of little interest, but in half a kilometer from it there is a small, but cozy sandy beach, which locals call "Fortress".

The beach in Heroic (Heroivka - suburb of Kerch) is similar to the main city, only less refined and civilized.

You can go to the beach  “Lighthouse” "Mayak". It’s the only one lying on the shore of the Azov Sea, not the Black Sea. "Lighthouse", like the previous beach, is outside the city, but on the road to it from the center you will take no more time than on the road to the main city. In that part of the beach that is located near the bus stop, quite crowded, and meters in the 300-500's aside much more free.
