This is the most northern of all cave cities in the
Crimea. It is located on the rocks near the village of Skalistoye, Bakhchisaray
region at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level near the place where the
Bodrak River flows into Alma. From Buckly to Simferopol, about 18 kilometers.
The inhabitants of Buckle and the surrounding area were representatives
of the Sarmatian Alans and Goths. The death of the cave city happened due to
the raid of the Tatar-Mongol tribes under the leadership of Nogai in about 1299
of a new era.
The main feature of the city is the presence of a variety of grain pits.
The cave city of Bakla didn’t have its own defense facilities. Therefore, in
time of danger, the townspeople took refuge in Chufut-Kale. The most fortified
structure in the city is a 6th-century castle in the central part of the city
on the southern slopes.
The Bakla was built on two rocky ledges, having a height of 15 meters.
In the cave town of Bakla there were land and underground structures.
Buckler always experienced difficulties with water. Therefore, the whole
life of the villagers was aimed at preserving the precious moisture. To do
this, they came up with a variety of adaptations that are visible on all the
rocks.
In addition to grain pits, everywhere there were wine-cuttings cut in
the rocks. In the cave city you can look at the ruins of the 8th-9th centuries
temple with many tombs and a cave complex that has preserved the remains of
rock art.

Orthodox churches. Archaeologists have found here the remains of architecture
and pieces of ornament. Near the center of pottery, which produced a variety of
