The Wuchang-Su waterfall

The Wuchang-Su waterfall is the highest waterfall in the Crimea. The word "Wuchang-Su" in literal translation from Turkic means "flying water". He was given many names, he actually seems to be many-sided - at different times of the year the waterfall is perceived in a different way.

In spring it is rattling and stormy, in summer the river is not full and there are only a few streams in the waterfall. When the summer becomes very hot, the Wuchang-Su falls almost completely. In the frosty frosts, which are not uncommon in the Crimean mountains, it freezes and represents a huge unified ice block. In 1986, according to this icicle, the famous mountain climber Yuri Lishaev climbed from the foot to the very top of Wuchang-Su.

The Wuchang-Su falls off the cliff, located at an altitude of 390 m above sea level, although the height of the waterfall itself is only 89 meters. When the water breaks, a huge cauldron is formed, like a bath of youth - this pool is filled with crystal clear and transparent water. It is here, on the ledge to be a water intake Yalta, which is a sculpture of an eagle - hence the water enters the Mogaba reservoir.

The Wuchang-Su River will show you an equally spectacular sight. Failing from the waterfall, it flies down the rocks with sparkling sprays. If you travel with children, it is better not to approach the precipice, and adults can experience this unique and fascinating beauty to the fullest. If you go down along the riverbed on foot you can walk to Yalta Zoo and Glade of Fairy Tales.
Observant locals guess the weather along the Wuchang-Su River. Transparent water speaks of a good and cloudless weather, and when the water becomes brown and clay, with many branches and sand, it indicates a looming storm.
