Nikitsky botanical garden: did you saw mammoth trees, and a bamboo grove?

Nikitsky Botanical Garden is a complex consisting of parks and gardens, thematic exhibitions. It combines thematic exhibitions and expositions, a labyrinth of laurel, a pond with lotuses, an orchid pavilion, a cactus greenhouse.

THE UPPER PARK

At the main entrance to the garden, you will be met by the Upper Park. In the park you will see slender cypresses, oaks, yuccas, eyewitnesses of the era - cedars, cypresses, fir - one of the first plantations of the park. The inner courtyard of the park hides several small fountains with evergreen deciduous and coniferous trees.

THE LOWER PARK

The lower park is an exotic of subtropical plants. Wild pomegranate, Chinese date, fig tree, Lebanese cedars, Spanish fir, boxwood, banana Basio. In the Lower Park you will see a pond where beautiful lotuses grow. At the end of March, a collection of 150 varieties of tulips is spreading in the park, followed by irises. THE PRIMORSKIY PARK

THE PARK "CAPE MARTYAN"

"Cape Martyan" is a nature reserve that has preserved to our time the juniper corner of high (Juniperus excelsa). Snow in the reserve falls rarely, and when it falls, it quickly melts. Therefore, in an evergreen nature reserve spring comes early, primroses blossom in early February. Touch the history: in the park there are ruins of the fortress XIII-XV centuries "Ruscofil-Calais". And you can also take a walk in the places where the time loved to pass so much. The family of the last Russian Tsar is the Romanov family.

THE CACTUS ORANGE

One of the largest collections of cacti in Russia and Europe is also located here, in the Nikitsky Botanical Garden. In addition to cacti, other succulents have also been planted in the greenhouse (for example, the well-known money tree).

THE  GARDEN PARADISE

The Garden of Eden is the continuation of the Cactus Greenhouse. Paradise is located on the shore of the Kuchuk-Lambat bay. It, like the other parks of the Nikitsky garden, is unique, it has 13 thousand trees and 30 thousand shrubs, a grove of European olives with a 200-year history.

THE MONTEDOR PARK

This is the youngest park of the Botanical Garden, it was laid in the postwar years and is located on the same cape of Montedor. In addition to the usual coniferous plants in the park, you will see exotic trees, they need pine needles for the winter. And also, you will stay under the impression of mammoth trees for a long time!

The park is beautiful at any time of year, the ideal time to visit outside the resort season, when the flow of holidaymakers has already subsided. Then you can fully enjoy the beauty and grandeur of the park. One day is enough for you to get acquainted with the park closer. Be prepared, that for visiting of separate expositions inside of park you again should pay. Parking is paid, in the park there is a dining room.
