The Gazebo of Winds can
be seen from the Hurzuf in clear weather. If you stand with your back to the
sea, then it is exactly opposite you at the top of the rock Shagan-Kaya ("Falcon
Mountain"). Gazebo of the Winds, perhaps, one of the most romantic places
in the Crimea. Every year hundreds of people make an offer to their beloved,
couples in love often come to this place.
The Gazebo of winds is
at an altitude of 1423 meters above sea level at the very edge of the cliff.
Going to the edge of the arbor, to the balustrade, you have a magnificent view
of Bear Mountain (Ayu-Dag), the Hurzuf, the southern coast of the Crimea and
the endless Black Sea. It is here, looking at the sea, you can understand why
he is called Black, especially if the sun is closed by clouds, the sea becomes
dark blue, in places it is Black. Going to the balustrade, immediately
breathtaking: the view from the gazebo is stunning, but the sense of height and
the gap that opens before you is breathtaking. The place is full of emotions
and a bit of extreme sensations, although you are safe, but the height sensibly
tickles your nerves.
The Gazebo of Winds was built in 1956. It consists of 8 columns
with a height of 5.5 meters and a dome covering the columns, the total height
of Gazebo winds is 6 meters. The floor in the gazebo is covered with mosaic,
which depicts a rose of winds.
Entering the colonnade,
the landscapes of Ayu-Dag, Hurzuf, Partenit, southern slopes of the Crimean
mountains, as well as the blue sea, which sometimes merges with the sky and the
horizon line disappears completely, open to the eyes of the person. On a clear,
sunny day, the sea surface can be seen at a distance of 150 kilometers from the
coast, and this, you want to note, is almost the middle of the Black Sea.
