The name "Sevastopol" is used both to designate the city of Sevastopol and to designate the Sevastopol District, which includes Inkerman, Kacha and a number of villages besides the hero city. Below we will talk about the city of Sevastopol.
Sevastopol is a large city with a population of about 381 thousand people, located on the Heraklion peninsula, which is in the south-west of the Crimea.

Its coast is rich in convenient and usually ice-free bays, due to which it is a large fishing and trading port, as well as the base of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian. Despite the fact that Sevastopol can not be called a resort, many tourists visit it every year, a significant part of which is attracted not so much by the sea and beaches, but by a large number of attractions, concentrated in the city and its environs.

Beaches of Sevastopol
Since Sevastopol occupies quite a large part of the coast, it also has a large number of beaches.

Sevastopol has preserved many attractive mansions and estates of the past. However, there are layers of history here and much more ancient: the famous reserve of Tauric Chersonesos, the medieval town of Inkerman, the Genoese fortress. Each epoch has left its mark in Sevastopol, so no wonder that the storehouses of city museums are full of artifacts. It's difficult to say whether the traveler will have enough time to reach the expositions - the local beaches are too good, the military cruisers are magnificent, young and handsome, sailors in beautiful uniforms, smiling affectionately to the girls on spacious avenues or in cozy alleys of this holiday city.
